    Looking back on 2021, we here at Project Edge are extremely proud of the students and communities we’ve reached, the impact on education we’ve made, and the fun and meaningful experiences we’ve had while doing it all. But above all, we’re excited for what 2022 has to bring—Project Edge is excited to announce new programs, collaborations, and more as the new year rolls around!

    Introducing Finals Group Cram Sessions!

    With finals season quickly approaching, Project Edge has partnered with San Marino High School’s very own Science Club to host online, interactive group cram sessions, from 3-4 PM on Mondays to Fridays, every week of December until the semester comes to an end just before Christmas.

    Music in Action

    Ever since high school, I’ve been participating in programs worldwide at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria. However, in my free time I have decided to pursue other opportunities locally. As a major project, I hosted a senior recital to raise funds and donate to an educational charity on behalf of Project Edge.

    The Joy of Teaching

    The sudden change to virtual schooling left many teachers and students unprepared to adapt in a virtual environment. Teachers had a hard time connecting with students and cheating was prevalent. Co-founding Project Edge gives me the opportunity to work with all sorts of people and has given me a more complete perspective on the pandemic’s effects on education.

    STEAM:CODERS and Project Edge at Rosebud Academy

    Over this past summer, I went to Rosebud Academy in Pasadena, CA to volunteer as a part of Project Edge’s collaboration with fellow nonprofit organization STEAM:CODERS, spending three weeks there for a total of 25 hours of instruction. To say the least, it was a great experience.

    Working with Management Systems

    With over 50 active instructors and 100 students worldwide, how do we keep track of service hours, registered sessions, task delegation for our educators? While many companies use time clocks to record hours or make phone calls to schedule appointments, our group of young adults running Project Edge has implemented more tech-savvy ways to keep our records.

    Math and Grammar Classes at Project Edge

    Math and grammar are, unsurprisingly, two of our most popular subjects here at Project Edge. As an instructor and curriculum director, I greatly enjoy working with both subjects, but in my opinion, they seem like polar opposite teaching experiences.

    STEAM:CODERS Partnership in the Works

    We are so excited to announce our partnership with STEAM:CODERS, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to inspire underrepresented students in STEAM in preparation for academic and career opportunities! Their organization’s goal is to “introduce 1,000,000 students to the fundamentals of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), by 2045”; Project Edge supports this goal without reservation.

    Partnership with East Meets West Parent Education Club

    In late March of this year, our team had the honor of joining forces with fellow San Marino nonprofit East Meets West. Their organization aims to aid immigrant families in accommodating to life in America, guiding parenting, child activities, and so on.
